Writer's Block: Something like that

What is the BIGGEST lie you've ever told?

"I love you."

Dear...

Dear You, over there;

You have had nothing nice to say about anyone at all in the entire time I have been reading you.  You do nothing but put other people down, slam folks who don't share your taste, and preen about your dubious-child-rearing accomplishment.  If rearing a prima-donna who will make their future spouse curse your name is an accomplishment, anyway.  I think I'm done.  The few interesting and insightful entries you write yearly doesn't make up for the bitchy dreck that fills the other 360 days of the year.

Thanks for the time,
Me

Woke up yesterday with my eye twitching and a headache threatening.  It turned into a nasty headache not too long into the day that nothing seemed to touch.  Got home and whimpered to my medicine cabinet, only to discover my migraine meds are from 2006.  I'm not sure I want to take that.  I wound up going to bed with Motrin in me, a heating pad for my back and an ice pack for my head... and woke up to the same headache/ete twitch combo.  Some of this is stress (the eye twitching is a classic symptom of system overload for me, but what can I do about it, you know?) and some of it is biological, as I have my period.  I think perhaps some of it is sinus related, so I took an allergy pill & two Midol and now I'm just living in hope it goes away after my shower.  Today would be a call-in-sick day if we were fully staffed, but right now we're short handed even before my boss took the time off.

Great.  My stomach's a little nauseous too, now.  Hmph.

I just got an email from my tattoo artist as part of a mass emailing to ask folks to vote for his tattoo shop in a Best Of poll. I was curious to see who else he mailed it to, so I hit the drop down. It showed me everyone he mailed to and also how he has them labeled in his address book. I’m in there as “Kate cutieclient”. That just made my day, my tattoo artist thinks I’m cute!

Sunday, the hair is getting cut.  I am tired of it, and while I may grow it back again someday (like I did the last time I cut it) I've realized I'm bored with it and never leave it down.  Sure sign it's time to let it go.

Library therapy

Work is eating my face, but I managed to get to the library the other day and put in a request for some books.  I recently read Rosemary & Rue by Seanan McGuire and Underground by Kat Richardson, and really enjoyed them both.  I think I'm pretty well hooked on the urban fantasy genre for the moment.  I have these books coming in:

Night Shift - Lilith Saintcrow

Working for the Devil - Lilith Saintcrow

Moon Called - Patricia Briggs

Blood Bound - Patricia Briggs

Blood Rites - Jim Butcher

What books would you recommend?

?!??!

I'm so completely disgusted by the people who are Tweeting and writing and signing petitions for Roman Polanski to be released.  I'm sorry, but motherfucking child rapists do not deserve to be released because it's been over 30 years since they fled the country, or because they're genius filmmakers.  A rapist is a fucking rapist, and a special shout-out of fuck-you to Whoopi Goldberg for saying it wasn't "rape-rape".  Considering the fact the victim was 13, said "no" repeatedly, and was drugged as well as drunk, I think that's very much "rape-rape".

Absolutely sickened.
My day is complete.  I just had one of my male co-workers high-five me for suggesting the costume shop where he bought his flapper dress.

Gmail down is... news?

Slow day, CNN?  Maybe if you guys are that bored you could also start reporting every time AOL is down.  Or whenever Open Diary is slow.  Or when Livejournal gets hacked - again.
